To be fair, often the rear carpet is laying directly on the spare tire. After 37 years, the rear carpet sags around the spare and it looks moderately unsightly. The Celica had this hard, thin particle board as a deck above the spare. Yet all three Tercels I owned had nothing of the sort, and based on the wear, I’m thinking never did.

It’s a car for the right lane.  I think those composite lights were 87-88 only.

I think the price is a bit dear, let that keep you from it - it doesn’t look low mileage or especially pristine. For a third or more less, it might be more tempting.

I remember when these were fairly new cars. I recall a teacher, maybe 5th grade, had one, silver and blue two tone, perhaps. And someone down the street had a 4WD Civic wagovan.

Cars for teachers - another had a wedge Supra, and maybe the rarest one, another had a “wonder wagon” van, not just a 4WD model, but camper conversion. That’s one you should find.  It’s perfectly sane that I remember all this.

It’s kind of a phase of my life I think has passed. Owning a relaible old fancy Paseo has cut down heavily on my misadventures — like breaking down on I-5 through Everett and barely making it to the skinny shoulder  as everyone flew by at 70 miles per hour. Those were the days.
